ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has departed for a five-day official visit to China to attend the launch ceremony of a Pakistani satellite.
He will be the guest of honour there, and will engage in high-level discussions with senior Chinese leadership in Beijing.
The visit will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as space technology, the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
Ahsan Iqbal will also assess preparations for the upcoming Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting on CPEC and the expected visit of Pakistan’s Prime Minister to China.
Speaking before his departure, the minister highlighted the growing collaboration between Pakistan and China across multiple sectors.
He stated that Pakistan is actively engaging with China’s development model and is fully committed to industrial zones, agricultural modernization, and high-tech cooperation under CPEC Phase 2 — a practical demonstration of the enduring Pak-China friendship.
