Monsoon to intensify; flooding risk in parts of the country
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall in various cities from August 4 to August 7, with increasing monsoon activity expected during this period.
According to the Met Office, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas starting Monday. Other parts of the country may also experience similar weather conditions.
Officials warn that monsoon intensity is expected to rise beginning August 4, and there is a potential risk of flash flooding in streams and nullahs, particularly in Rawalpindi and other vulnerable cities between August 5 and 7.
Authorities have advised residents in at-risk areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
