PM reiterates firm resolve on sovereignty

PM Gilani has reiterated resolve to uphold Pakistans sovereignty supreme.

Talking to the media after chairing federal cabinet’s session, the PM said that all institutions are working with the ambit defined by the constitution, while all decisions of the parliament would be implemented.PM Gilani said that all the decisions to be taken by the joint session of the parliament would be implemented in letter and spirit. He said talks with militant groups are possible only if they surrender arms and relinquish extremism first.He also said that the government was consulting all coalition partners on the issue of reviewing ties with the US and Nato. Prime Minister Gilani earlier chaired the federal cabinet meeting in Peshawar.The federal cabinet approved a bailout package worth Rs 11 billion for Pakistan Steel Mills.The federal ministers, provincial governors, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CM Ameer Haider Hoti and the federal secretaries attended the meeting.The meeting reviewed the situation of Steel Mills, other profit-oriented institutions and prices of food items.Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan briefed the media about the details of the session. She however said that inflation and controlling prices is a provincial subject.
