Ashrafi condemned the recent terrorism in Quetta
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi called for strict action against elements affiliated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) that destabilise the nation.
In a press conference held at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday, Ashrafi condemned the recent terrorism in Quetta, in which innocent Pakistanis lost their lives.
“Terrorists have no allegiance to any province or community,” he asserted, underlining that the BLA operates with foreign support aimed at seeding instability in Pakistan.

Ashrafi further alleged that the attacker responsible for the recent suicide bombing had used American-manufactured weapons, equipment, and uniforms left behind in Afghanistan following the US withdrawal. He urged the Pakistani state to take decisive action to counter these threats.
Questioning the glorification of violent actors in the name of Balochistan’s rights, Ashrafi said, “For how long will those who take innocent lives be celebrated as heroes?” He condemned the narrative that frames terrorists as defenders of the ‘missing persons’ cause, cautioning that such perspectives only serve to punish Pakistan.
