PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has announced to stage the next rally in Mianwali on September 29.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar stated that the rally would take place on Sunday. He mentioned the challenges the party faced in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the government for conducting rallies.
He noted that whenever NOCs were granted, they came with conditions that made holding the rally difficult.
He highlighted the success of their recent rally in Lahore, where the party managed to gather a large crowd despite the motorway being closed on the day of the event.
Khan noted his own struggles to reach Lahore, mentioning that he was stuck for four hours, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur entered Lahore at 5 PM, but was not able to reach the rally venue on time due to road closures.
Khan expressed concern over police interference during the Lahore rally, stating that they had advised their supporters to remain peaceful to avoid clashes.
He asserted that if the most popular party was not given space to operate, it could benefit anti-political forces.
The PTI Chairman stressed the importance of an independent judiciary in any democratic country. He reiterated the need to reduce oppression to facilitate the progress of democracy.
He also criticised the government for attempting to introduce alleged unconstitutional amendments. He further questioned the alleged attempts of replacing judges who do not deliver favorable rulings.
He insisted that judges must remain free from political influence.
