ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Senator Faisal Vawda has tendered unconditional apology from the Supreme Court (SC) in the contempt of court case.

Former federal minister Vawda has also submitted a response to the show-cause notice issued to him in the contempt of court case in SC.

In his response, Vawda sought an unconditional apology from SC and said he was at the mercy of court. He requested to end proceedings against him in the court contempt case.

He also apologised for any disgrace to the judiciary in his press conference as he asserted the motive behind the press conference was not to commit any contempt.

At a press conference, Vawda stated that the high court judges must either provide evidence to support their accusations (alleged interference of some elements in judicial affairs) or refrain from vilifying state institutions.

The senator raised questions about assertions made by Islamabad High Court judge Babar Sattar, adding, "Merely making accusations isn't enough; evidence must be presented in court."

The senator assured that he would stand by the judges if evidence is presented, underlining the importance of exposing those meddling in judicial matters.
