New security plan to protect Chinese citizens working in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Preparations have begun to establish the safe cities project in Dasu and Chilas under a foolproof security plan for Chinese and other foreign citizens working in Pakistan. 

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to review the establishment of the Dasu and Chilas Safe City Project. The goal is not just to install cameras, but to create a system equipped with advanced technology and artificial intelligence tools. 

Mohsin Naqvi said the project would ensure the surveillance and security of these areas. He mentioned that the Islamabad police would provide full support for this. He directed Wapda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, and Islamabad police to prepare a comprehensive plan in this regard.

The interior minister formed a committee consisting of the Islamabad IGP, the Hazara RPO, and Wapda representative. Naqvi instructed to present a comprehensive plan for the establishment of the project within 15 days. He stressed that protecting the Chinese citizens working on construction and development projects in Pakistan was a national responsibility. 

Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Ali Agha, Wapda chairman retired Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi attended the meeting. 

Also, the Additional Chief Secretary Home, Additional IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Hazara RPO participated through a video link.
