PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - People gathered to protest against endless spells of loadshedding in sweltering heat.

Residents of Hazar Khwani and surrounding areas entered the grid station whereas protesters under the leadership of provincial minister Fazal Elahi demanded immediate supply of electricity.

It is worth remembering that Fazal Elahi had said the other day that he would control the button of Rehman Baba Grid Station at 9am to issue the schedule of loadshedding by himself.

Fazal Elahi had earlier stated that he would provide electricity to every area according to the exact proportion of power outages in that area. He pledged to stand by KP CM when the latter had announced to snatch KP's rights from the Centre.

Wapda authorities restored electricity supply after holding successful dialogue with protesters.

On the other hand, two to 10 hours of loadshedding coupled with Friday night's storm brought the lives of residents to a standstill.

Electricity was not restored from more than 30 feeders till last reports came in.

Manawan, Batapur, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Kot Lakhpat, Chouburji, Allama Iqbal Town and Shahdara face the worst outages.
