LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rain followed by a duststorm in Lahore and its adjacent areas on Friday night brought the mercury down and provided much-needed relief from hot weather.

Light rain was reported from Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Jail Road, Model Town, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk, Sanda, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Qila Gujar Singh, Mughalpura, Sabzazar, Mustafaabad and other parts of the city.

Meanwhile, the Met Office forecast rain-windstorm/thunderstorm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 12 hours. However, isolated heavy falls and hailstorm are also expected during the period.

Light rain and windstorm with thunderstorm is expected at a few places of northern Balochistan, southern Punjab and upper Sindh while hot and dry weather is likely in other parts of the country.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during the next two to three days.

During the last 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while very hot in central and southern parts. Rain-windstorm and thunderstorm occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, north Balochistan and Kashmir.
