Pakistan ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani has offered to resign.
According to sources, Pakistan ambassador to the United States Husain Haq in his letter to President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he is ready to quit if there is any chance of improvement in Pak-US relation by his resignation. However, the Presidency has denied the report.The sources that the controversy created by US-based Pakistani origins businessman Mansoor Ijaz who claimed to have delivered a letter of President Asif Ali Zardari, handed over to him by some high official of Pakistan embassy, to Admiral (R) Mike Mullen.According to the sources the relations between the civil and military leadership further deteriorated after Mansoor Ijaz claimed that President Zardari in the letter had sought Washington’s help for removing the Army and ISI chiefs and had assured the Obama administration that he would cut all ties to militant groups if it assisted him in this regard.The sources said that army has demanded President Zardari to remove the ambassador immediately.
