ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar said on Tuesday the statements of the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) founder and other leaders were an attempt to politicise the suo moto action of the Supreme Court in the matter of IHC judges’ letter.

Responding to a statement of PTI's Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the law minister said the statements of the PTI founder and leaders on the matter were a cynical attempt to politicise the Supreme Court's suo moto notice.

He said the notice had been taken under Article 184(3) of the Constitution and the constitution had to be followed and implemented in any case.

Tarar said it's the discretion of the chief justice and a committee of senior judges to constitute benches, and not a matter of politics.
