QUETTA (Dunya News) – In a startling revelation, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), stated on Saturday that a sum of Rs70 billion was extracted from people to manipulate the elections.

In a statement released, Achakzai asserted that his party would support political entities that endorse a resolution aimed at curbing the interference of state institutions in politics.

The PKMAP chief also urged for the adoption of a resolution in support of judges and political activists who oppose martial law.

Achakzai said he had reaffirmed his allegiance to PML-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif as long as he had upheld the constitution and the law.

He criticised PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif's assertion of being the establishment's favourite for 30 years, terming it “disgraceful”.

Achakzai emphasised that the members, workers and supporters of his party would refrain from resorting to arms, yet their commitment to patriotism and democracy remained steadfast in their veins.
