ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan's former ambassador to America, Asad Majeed, recorded his statement in the cipher case.

Asad Majeed said that he was Pakistan's ambassador to the United States from January 2019 to March 2022. On March 7, 2022, he invited Assistant Secretary of the US Department of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, to a working lunch.

Majeed stated that it was a pre-arranged meeting that was hosted at Pakistan House in Washington.

Asad Majeed said that in the meeting, both sides knew that the minutes of the meeting were being taken. ' There was no reference to words like conspiracy, he said adding he was also called to the meeting of the National Security Committee.

The ex-ambassador further said in the statement that in the meeting of the National Security Committee, it was decided to issue a demarsh.
