ISLAMABAD (APP) – The repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, including Afghans, continues to proceed in a dignified and safe manner.

On Sunday, approximately 693 illegal Afghan nationals were safely returned to their homeland, marking a total of 460,881 repatriated immigrants, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

The repatriation operation efficiently utilised 23 vehicles to transport 200 men, 164 women and 329 children back to Afghanistan.

Notably, the apex committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) had set a deadline for all foreign nationals residing illegally in Pakistan during a meeting on Oct 3. Until Oct 31, individuals were given the option to leave voluntarily or face deportation.

The government of Pakistan has actively participated in facilitating this repatriation process, particularly at the Torkham and Chaman borders.

This collaborative effort is designed to ensure a smooth and secure return for individuals who had been residing in the country without legal authorisation.
