Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son passes away
KHANEWAL (Dunya News) – Known Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son Asim Jamil passed away in Talamba on Sunday.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tariq Jamil said the “accidental death” had turned the atmosphere mournful.
“We request you all to remember us in your prayers on this sad occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in heaven,” he added.

آج تلمبہ میں میرے بیٹے عاصم جمیل کا انتقال ہوگیا ہے. اس حادثاتی موت نے ماحول کو سوگوار بنا دیا۔ آپ سب سے گزارش ہے کہ اس غم کے موقع پر ہمیں اپنی دعاؤں میں یاد رکھیں. اللہ میرے فرزند کو جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ مقام عطا فرمائے۔
However, DPO Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq said that Asim Jamil was shot dead, saying he got a bullet in his chest. Police said that they were probing into the incident.
The incident took place in Tulamba Tehsil of Khanewal district of Punjab. According to initial reports, Asim Jamil’s body was shifted to Tulamba Hospital.
Meanwhile, IG Punjab Usman Anwar also took notice of the incident and directed the DPO to collect forensic evidence to ascertain the reason behind the death of Asim Jamil.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of Asim Jamil, son of Maulana Tariq Jamil.
Expressing his condolence, the prime minister prayed for the departed soul and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti also grieved over the incident.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the incident and condoled with the family.
