LHC adjourns hearing of pleas against rejection of physical remand of Yasmin Rashid

The cause list of two-member bench was cancelled

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of pleas against refusing physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Yasmin Rashid without any proceedings.

A two-member LHC bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi had to hear the appeals against refusing physical remand of Dr Rashid in connection with May 9 violence and arson cases.

As one of the member of the bench was on leave, the court adjourned hearing of the pleas without any proceedings. The cause list of the two-member bench was cancelled.

In the anti-terrorism court of Lahore on Saturday, PTI leaders Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mehmoodur Rasheed and Ejaz Chaudhary were sent back to jail in the May 9 cases. The court has already ordered the remand of Dr Yasmin Rashid and others until Sept 5, while Ejaz Chaudhary and Mehmoodur Rasheed are on physical remand. Subsequently, the three leaders were sent back to jail until Sept 5.
