Water crisis looms in Karachi as main pipeline bursts

72-inch-diameter line No. 5 was burst and all the 21 water pumps got affected

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Severe water crisis is looming in several areas of Karachi as the main water pipeline at the Dhabeji Pumping Station burst due to some technical fault developed in the K-Electric.

According to the officials, a 72-inch-diameter line No. 5 was burst and all the 21 water pumps got affected.

The repair work wasn’t started yet and water crisis may hit many residential areas of Karachi.

Several areas including Shah Latif Town, Landhi, Quaidabad, Malir and Korangi may face the water shortage.

Two pipelines were also burst a couple of days ago and affected the water supply in many residential areas.
