LHC has already barred the ECP to announce the final decision in the case
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) constituted full bench over the ECP’s contempt case against the PTI chairman.
Three-member full bench headed by Justice Aalia Neelum would hear the petitions on October 4. Other members of bench include Justice Shehram Sarwar Ch and Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural.
It has been prayed in the petitions that the ECP didn’t have any authority to take action under the contempt of court.
“ECP is an institution and not a court. Only courts can exercise the contempt of court provisions as per the constitution,” the petitions said.
It was prayed in the petitions to declare ECP’s contempt case as null and void.
It merits mention here that LHC has already barred the ECP to announce the final decision in the case.
