Special court extends PTI chief's judicial remand in cipher case for 14 days

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain drove his own car to Attock jail

ATTOCK (Dunya News) – A special court on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of the PTI chairman in the cipher case for 14 days. 

Official Secrets Act court judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain extended the remand till Sept 13. 

Earlier, the judge reached the Attock Jail to hear the cipher case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman. 

Judge Zulqarnain drove his own car to the Attock Jail where he heard the case inside the deputy superintendent's office. The PTI chief was produced before the court in the presence of the FIA officials. 

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Law issued a notification of the case hearing in the Attock jail. The hearing of the cipher case has been shifted to the prison due to security concerns.

IHC suspends PTI chairman's sentence in Toshakhana case

On the other hand, police initially did not allow the PTI chairman's legal team to go inside the jail. Police said only one lawyer would be allowed to go inside the prison. Later, they allowed the lawyers to visit the PTI chief in jail.
