Siraj calls out Wapda for burdening inflation-hit people with exorbitant power bills
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq said on Monday that Wapda burdened the inflation-hit people with exorbitant electricity bills.
Addressing a press conference, Sirajul Haq said the future of the corrupt elite was safe in this country.
He said, according to a recent survey, 72 percent of the youth wanted to leave the country.
The JI had decided to give tickets to the youth in the elections, the emir said, adding that the former rulers always used the youth for their dirty politics.

Siraj demanded the government to review agreements with IPP.
“The government should immediately discontinue free electricity units for govt employees,” he said.
The JI chief warned the government to withdraw the tax on power bills, otherwise the JI would hold a shutterdown strike on September 2. A protest rally will be held in Rawalpindi on September 1, he said.
Meanwhile, Karachi JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the rulers should understand that they would have to reduce the electricity prices in any case.
Addressing a sit-in in Sadar, Rehman said that everyone was worried about the exorbitant increase in the electricity prices.
The poor are worried about how to pay the electricity bills, he said, adding that K-Electric has no right to disconnect the electricity supply.
