PTI chairman’s plea for exemption from attendance approved
LAHORE (Dunya News) - An anti-terrorism court accepted the petition for exemption from appearance filed by the PTI chairman in the Jinnah House and other cases.
The court extended the exemption till Aug 11.
PTI chairman’s lawyer filed a one-day attendance waiver application in which he said that due to arrest, the PTI is filing the appeal today. He expressed hope that the PTI chief’s sentence would be suspended.
Barrister Salman Safdar claimed that the PTI chairman would enjoy his freedom soon because he had been appearing in court regularly.
The judge asked the lawyer why he was so optimistic about the hearing of the appeal and the suspension of the sentence. The petitioner's lawyer said the PTI chairman wanted to appear in court but circumstances and events did not allow.
A production order was requested by Advocate Burhan Moazzam.
