Qureshi, Umar appear before FIA in cipher, audio leak inquiry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and party’s former general secretary Asad Umar on Monday appeared before the FIA for cipher and audio leak inquiry.
Both leaders recorded their statements in terrorism cases lodged against them by the FIA’s anti-terrorism wing.
Talking to the media after appearing, Qureshi said investigation lasted two hours, adding that he answered all questions. “PTI chief has also been summoned and he will appear tomorrow,” he added.
He went on to say that cipher was a reality, adding that those responsible gave differing statements. “Civil and military leadership agreed,” he added.
Two national security session, he said, were called, adding that one of them was attended by former premier and the other by PM Shehbaz Sharif. “Both sessions acknowledged cipher,” he added.
An eight-member, comprising senior officers from intelligence agencies, joint inquiry team of the FIA is investigating the cipher case.
