About 28,900 commercial containers missing

The FBR has revealed 28,900 commercial containers went missed from 2007 to 2010.

During a briefing to the National Committee on Trade, the Federal Board of Revenue disclosed that about 28,900 commercial containers, which were going to Afghanistan through Pakistan, went missing, causing Rs 55 billion loss to the national exchequer.The FBR also informed the committee that 19,000 NATO containers out of 52,000 went missed during the last four years, adding that Americans could be involved in this act. The department told the committee that a case had been registered against all the FBR officials involved in the case.It is pertinent to mention that Dunya News broke the news of NATO containers going missing, and that the theft was causing a huge loss to the exchequer.
