Hammad blames PDM for economic woes
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Hammad Azhar berated on Tuesday Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), blaming it for the economic woes.
Speaking to media, the former federal minister lamented that the country was witnessing ballooning inflation, adding that the oil marketing companies (OMCs) complained about not having money to buy oil.
Expressing his concerns over the foreign exchange reserves, Mr Azhar said that the country’s foreign reserves were less than $4 billion. "Billions of dollars must be repaid in installments," Mr Hammad reminded.
Speaking on the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr Azhar said, "The relations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continue to strain."
Hoping that the country’s politics would not witness political engineering in the future, Mr Azhar predicted that PTI chief Imran Khan would be the next premier of the country.
Taking a dig at the Pakistan People’s Party, Mr Azhar said, "The PPP made fun of the LG polls in Karachi."
He also made it clear that the PDM government will be tested with the vote of confidence in the National Assembly.
