LAHORE (Dunya News) – The flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport has been disrupted due to poor visibility caused by dense fog, Dunya News reported on Monday.
The airport’s runway has been closed for all domestic and international flights. Several domestic and international flights were canceled or delayed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport as dense fog blanketed the provincial capital during night.
International flights from Lahore to Dubai, Muscat, Dammam and Jeddah were delayed for several hours while incoming international flights from Kuala Lumpur and Dubai have been diverted to Islamabad.
Several domestic flights from Karachi and other cities to Lahore were also delayed for hours due to the thick fog in the metropolis. At least five flights from Lahore to Karachi faced a delay fur to thick fog while two flights from Karachi to Lahore have been diverted to Islamabad.
Moreover, flights PK-306 and PK-307 from Karachi to Lahore have been cancelled. Flight from Lahore to Abu Dhabi faced a delay while PIA flight PK-247 from Lahore to Dammam has been cancelled.
