Despite a reduction in demand, gap between electricity demand and supply could not be met.
According to Pakistan Electric Power Supply Company, 14,320 megawatt of electricity is being generated in the country while the electricity demand is 17,495, leaving a deficit of 3,175 megawatt between the demand and supply.At least seven hours of load shedding a day is being observed in the urban areas of the country while the people in the rural areas have to suffer power outage for nine hours a day.The electricity towers blown 12 days ago in Balochistan could not be repaired, as a result electricity supply to 43 grid station is still suspended.
