IHC chief justice remarks Parliament’s legislation cannot be called "malicious".

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court on Monday rejected a petition against the amendment in the procedure for overseas Pakistanis to vote.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, while hearing the plea remarked that the court hopes that the election commission will take steps to ensure voting for expats.

During the hearing, the IHC chief justice remarked that Parliament’s legislation could not be called "malicious" and court cannot direct the parliament to legislate on certain issue.

It is to be mentioned here that the National Assembly on May 26 approved a bill, reversing reforms introduced by the previous PTI government for voting procedure of overseas Pakistanis.
