Peaceful protest our right, will give call for Islamabad soon: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and the former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday while addressing a protest against inflation across the country via video link said that  peaceful protest is our right and he will give call for Islamabad soon.

Rebuking the incumbent government, the former PM said that they are trying to rig the Punjab by-polls but we will not allow them to fix the elections, adding that he will give call for Islamabad soon because a peaceful protest is our right and clean and transparent elections are the only solution to save the country from further chaos.

While talking about the IMF agreement, PTI chairman said that the incumbent government claming that as the PTI had made agreements with IMF they had no option but to raise prices but his government reduced the petroleum prices despite the pressure.

He reminded the people that during the PTI’s tenure the ruling parties had launched marches when they had increased prices by Rs12.

“Since they have come they have increased petrol prices by Rs84 and diesel by Rs110. And diesel prices will affect farmers most and our food security in return. This will impact every class and there will be more,” said Imran Khan. He added that people will know about the “inflationary bomb” when they see June’s electricity bills.

He further said PTI’s struggle and jihad is for the betterment of the people because the incubment government incompetent economic policies have also created the food security issue across the country.

The former premier while repeating his claim of an American conspiracy to topple his government, the PTI chairman said that “neutrals” were told about it and warned that the country will be ruined if the PTI is removed from power and the incoming government will not be able to save it.

“Miftah Ismail asked American envoy to get relief. Nothing is free everything has a price, US will take our real freedom as a price,” warned Imran Khan. He also advised the finance minister and prime minister that the Americans have a price for everything.

Imran Khan also claimed that the incumbent rulers wanted to take an “NRO 2” and they took it.

“If these rulers are imposed in the country for long then they will bury the institutions. The whole nation has to fight together,” he said.

Imran Khan said that he expects to see inflation to rise further, warning that the people who will be affected by it will be the lower class, salaried class and especially the farmers.

“Today every Pakistani wants to ask what has happened in the country after no-confidence motion,” said Imran Khan.
