Hunza: Protest continues against killing of father-son duo

A shutter down is being observed in Hunzanagar against the killing of three protesters by police.

Keeping the dead bodies on Karakoram Highway, the protesters are lodging protest against the killing of three people, including a man and his son, by the police.The people displaced by Attababad Lake were protesting on the arrival of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Mehdi Shah at the lake against the non-implementation of relief package announce by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.Police opened the fire at the protesters, killing three people including a man and his son, injuring seven other protesters.The killing enraged the people and thousands of people came on Karakoram Highway with the dead bodies and started protesting.The local administration did not appear at the site, however the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly speaker tried to calm the protesters but they were continued protesting.Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik called for a report of the incident from the Gilgit-Baltistan inspector general of police.
