Haleem Adil Sheikh informs President, PM of unconstitutional measures taken by Sindh Govt

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Opposition Leader of Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has written a letter to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan on the issue of continuous unconstitutional measures taken by Sindh government and speech of Chief Minister in assembly.

The letter written by Haleem Adil Sheikh said that the PPP government in Sindh was violating the constitution of Pakistan. Murad Ali Shah spoke on the Sindh Assembly floor in a very irresponsible and objectionable manner.

He added that Sindh government is taking unconstitutional steps by misusing its majority in the assembly. Earlier, three bills related to out-turn promotion were passed as well without consultation.

Moreover, the new amendments in the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 are against Article 140A of the Constitution. The people of Sindh including all the opposition parties in the Sindh Assembly have rejected the Act.

The Sindh government re-introduced the said bill on the floor of the house, re-passed it without any discussion and without consulting the Standing Committee.

Haleem Adil Sheikh further wrote that the dictatorial attitude of Sindh government is detrimental to the ongoing democratic system in the country and Chief Minister of Sindh used undemocratic words during his speech in the Sindh Assembly.

Addressing the opposition, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that you people (opposition) are in the minority and PPP has become a security threat for Pakistan.

Haleem Adil Sheikh emphasized that the federal government should take immediate notice of this alarming situation.
