Sherry Rehman walks out of Senate Standing Committee on Finance over higher tax on cosmetics

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Reportedly, PPP leader and Senator Sherry Rehman walked out of the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Finance over higher tax on cosmetics. 

Sherry Rehman said that the chairman of the committee had made frivolous remarks demanding increase in tax on make-up, adding that a new volcano of inflation would erupt from the mini-budget.

A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance was held under the chairmanship of Talha Mahmood.

Chairman Committee Talha Mahmood said that efforts are being made to run the Finance Committee according to the party interests and these committees are not anyone s personal property, they are bound to take decisions for the betterment of the people.

Talking to media, Sherry Rehman said that the remarks of the chairman committee were frivolous.

In the committee meeting, bitter words were also exchanged between senator Faisal-ur-Rehman and Sherry Rehman.

Faisal-ur-Rehman said that PPP took most of the loans from IMF and today the nation is bearing brunt of their hefty loans.
