Shibli Faraz, Shaukat Tareen sworn in as federal ministers
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet reshuffle on Friday, Shibli Faraz and Shaukat Tareen took oath today at the President House Islamabad.
During the oath taking ceremony, President Dr. Arif Alvi administered oath to PTI Senators Shibli Faraz and Shaukat Tareen.
On Friday, the Prime Minister reshuffled his cabinet changing the portfolios of his government’s key ministers and appointing Shaukat Fayaz Tareen as a new Minister for Finance and Revenue in place of Hammad Azhar.
It should be noted that Shaukat Tareen does not hold any post at present but through a special ordinance by Prime Minister Imran Khan, he has been made the Federal Minister of Finance for six months.
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification of the reshuffle in the federal cabinet.
On the advice of the Prime Minister, President Dr. Arif Alvi appointed Shaukat Tareen and Senator Shibli Faraz as Federal Ministers. A notification was also issued to withdraw the additional charge from Hammad Azhar and Ministry of Petroleum from Omar Ayub.
According to the notification, Shaukat Tareen will be the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Hammad Azhar will be the Minister for Energy, Omar Ayub will be the Minister for Economic Affairs, Fawad Chaudhry will be the Minister for Information and finally, Shibli Faraz will be the Minister for Science and Technology.
