Coronavirus has claimed lives of at least 51 doctors in the province.

PESHAWAR (Dunya news) – Coronavirus has claimed life of another doctor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According provincial doctors association, Dr Taufiq contracted the virus while performing his duties in Police Hospital and was self-isolating at home.

The association further revealed that so far the deadly virus has claimed lives of at least 51 doctors in the province.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has reported 43 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 692,231. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 14,821 on Monday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,323 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 6,587 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,509 in Sindh, 2,457 in KP, 583 in Islamabad, 371 in Azad Kashmir, 211 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.
