Sindh imposes stricter Covid-19 SOPs to curb virus

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh Home Department has imposed new restrictions in view of the growing threat of coronavirus in the province, these restrictions will remain in force till April 11.

A notification issued by the Sindh Home Department on Wednesday said that new business hours have been introduced in the province. Businesses except medical stores, petrol pumps, hospitals and bakeries can only stay open from 6 am to 8 pm.

It has also been decided to close down wedding halls in the province from April 6 while social gatherings including processions will be completely banned. Parks will remain completely closed, but walking and jogging tracks will remain open.

Only 50% passengers will be allowed on public transport. Eating inside restaurants will be banned across the province while takeaway and outdoor dining will be allowed at the restaurant until 10 pm.

Private and government offices have been directed to call 50% staff only while the remaining 50% staff will work from home. Face masks have been made mandatory in offices and public places.

The notification said that in areas with over 8% coronavirus cases, the decision to impose lockdown would be taken by the concerned commissioners and deputy commissioners.
