ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday hoped that his party would easily win Senate elections

The prime minister, while chairing a meeting of government spokespersons, said that despite the reservations, the members of the parliament stand by the government, adding that neither we took pressure first nor will take.

The meeting also discussed current political situation and the Senate elections, while the spokespersons were briefed on government decisions and austerity measures in the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the issue of issuing tickets to Yousuf Raza Gilani, the joint candidate of the opposition alliance.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said that the long march of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 11-opposition parties, would also fail like its public rallies.

He said that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will easily win Senate elections, adding that we have given tickets to best candidates. “We have broken the tradition of giving Senate tickets to billionaires,” he added.

The premier went on to say that the expenditure of the Prime Minister s Office was reduced from Rs 506 million to Rs 243 million during the PTI government’s tenure, adding that the people should know that the government is with them in difficult situation.

PM Imran further said that the economic indicators are improving today and it is becoming clear in large scale manufacturing after a long time.
