PM Imran Khan directs to speed up mega projects in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Punjab government to speed up mega projects in Lahore. The PM appreciated the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Vice Chairman LDA and reiterated that corruption and bribery would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

According to details, on the occasion of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Lahore, Vice Chairman LDA SM Imran briefed on various mega projects in the city and said that a project costing about Rs 4.5 billion has been initiated at Shahkam Chowk.

It was also informed in the briefing that an overhead bridge would be constructed in Karim Block, at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion, to solve traffic congestion. One billion rupees would also be spent to deal with traffic congestion in front of Gulab Devi Hospital.

Similarly, Rs 4.5 billion would be spent between Railway Station and Sheranwala Chowk for ease of movement between North and South Lahore.

For housing, 4,000 apartments would initially be constructed on 8,000 kanals of land in LDA City. Under this scheme, people would pay monthly installments of Rs 15,000 and the house will be transferred to their name after 20 years. The project will be formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister on February 15.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed that all possible steps should be taken to eradicate corruption in LDA and that action should be taken against those who cause obstructions in mega projects.
