Three FC personnel were martyred in Karak after terrorists launched a quadcopter strike and later attacked ambulances carrying the wounded.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Three personnel of the Federal Constabulary (FC) were martyred in a coordinated terrorist attack in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, police confirmed.
The incident began with a quadcopter drone strike on an FC fort and escalated when ambulances carrying the wounded were ambushed en route to hospital. Authorities have launched a search and clearance operation in the area.
According to police, terrorists targeted the FC fort near Dargah Shaheedan in the Bahadar Khel area, within the jurisdiction of Khurram Muhammad Zai police station. The assault was carried out using a quadcopter drone, leaving at least five FC personnel injured.
District Police Officer (DPO) Saud Khan said the injured officials were being shifted to hospital when the attackers struck again.
While ambulances transporting the wounded were on their way for medical treatment, terrorists opened fire on the vehicles and set them ablaze. As a result, three of the injured personnel succumbed to their wounds.
Police added that two Rescue 1122 workers were also wounded in the ambulance attack. The remaining injured were shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu for treatment.
Following the incident, security forces launched a search and clearance operation in the area to apprehend the attackers. Officials said the locality has been cleared, while investigations into the attack are ongoing.
The assault comes amid a broader rise in militant violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies annual report for 2025, fatalities in KP increased from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025, reflecting a sharp year-on-year surge in violence.
Officials have repeatedly urged action against militant groups operating across the border, as tensions between Islamabad and Kabul remain strained following a series of cross-border incidents.
