PPP, PML-N, JUI-F boycott parliamentary leaders meeting on GB elections
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz (PML-N) have decided to boycott the meeting of the parliamentary leaders convened by the Speaker on Monday to discuss Gilgit-Baltistan elections and electoral reforms.
According to details, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser had convened a meeting of the parliamentary leaders on Gilgit-Baltistan elections and electoral reforms, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted about his decision.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Speaker of the National Assembly and the federal ministers have nothing to do with the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. We condemn the interference of the federal government in the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said that his party would only stay in touch with the Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission regarding the demands of transparent elections.
According to sources, JUI-F and PML-N has also decided to boycott the meeting.
