Courts should train judges, no reconciliation in rape cases: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the courts will have to join hands and asked for training of the  judges. He said that there can be no reconciliation in rape cases. Implementing the justice system will solve the problem.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Fawad Chaudhry said that women officers should investigate rape cases. Punishments in rape cases are only five percent. If the sentences were up to 85%, there would not be so many incidents.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway incident has shaken everyone. The people want the accused to be hanged in public. The anger of the people increases when such incidents were happening one after the other.

"We mourn such incidents for a few days and then wait for the next incident," he said. If culprits had been hanged in public in all previous incidents, no one would have dared in the future. He said that an average of 5,000 cases of rape is coming up every year.
