National institutions to take stern action on Uzair Baloch JIT report: Ali Zaidi

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi has committed that soon the national institutions will take serious action on the Uzair Baloch’s JIT report.

Talking in the Dunya News program "Dunya with Kamran Khan", he said that Dr. Fehmida Mirza has answered all the questions on this issue today and suggested going to court.

He said while the former sector in-charge of Rangers has also made revelations today, now everything will be exposed. He reiterated that Supreme Court (SC) should take Suo motu notice on the matter.

Answering a question, he said that the provincial government had the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report and the Sindh High Court (SHC) ruled to release JIT report however, he received JIT report three and a half years ago.

He revealed that when he was not minister, he used to receive lots of letters and someone left an envelope at his house, when he opened the envelope he was shocked to see the JIT report in that envelope.

The problem is not how the report was received, but what was written in it. This JIT report also has the signatures of the key official people, he added.

Responding to the criticism of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the ruling party of Sindh, he said that leaders of ppp have criticized the story of him receiving an envelope with the JIT report while they themselves have taken over the entire party on the basis of an envelope, and who knows who had written the will of Benazir Bhutto.

The Federal Minister said that meetings are being held at the level of the Prime Minister on Uzair Baloch JIT. The federal government is making a plan and very soon a strict action will be taken. Interior minister will also speak on the matter at the right time, he added.
