PPP demands to form JIT over ex-AG's allegations

PPP leader Palwasha Khan said that a movement should be started for the dignity of the judiciary.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Monday demanded to constitute a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the allegations levelled by former attorney general (AG) Anwar Mansoor Khan.

Talking to media in Karachi on Monday, PPP leader Nafeesa Shah said that bar council demanded the resignation of the former attorney general after he levelled allegations against the judiciary.

She demanded to form a JIT to probe who was behind his allegations, while Law Minister Farogh Naseem should be sent packing.

The PPP leader said that Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar should tell if he is the spy or head of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). She said that the East Recovery Unit is suspicious department which has no legal standing.

Nafisa Shah went on to say that the country’s economy is in turmoil, adding that the federation is responsible for the serious situation in Sindh. She said the traders will be going on strike once again.

The PPP leader said that Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif should return to Pakistan and play his role, adding that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is playing the real role of the opposition leader.
