According to the Foreign Office, both sides agreed in principle to continue the talk process and the next round will be held in Islamabad at a certain date.Both sides also exchanged documents and explained their respective positions on the Siachen issue, but failed to show any relaxation to each side.According to the Foreign Office, the two sides agreed to continue talks and the next round will be held in Islamabad.According to reports, India wanted guarantees to make ground positions permanent at Siachen while Pakistan was not ready to accept this option.Initially, the two sides had agreed to withdraw their respective troops from Siachen without drawing any demarcation line, giving a hope that the talks would reach their logical end as the two countries had been engaged in dialogue since 1985.The Foreign Office, however, said that the talks were held in a friendly environment.
