Musharraf announces to return to Pakistan next year

Pervez Musharraf has announced that he would return to Pakistan by March 23, 2012.

The former president and All Pakistan Muslim League’s chief, currently living abroad in self-imposed exile, made the announcement on Friday at a press conference in Dubai. Musharraf said that he “will be back” in his homeland to contest the 2013 elections, tackle “the political and economic turmoil” and fight the terrorism threat. The former president said that he would land in Lahore after his return to the country. “I will work hard for the next elections of 2013,” he said. Musharraf further said that he would face cases in the court, saying no red warrant had been issued against him.
