Muzaffarabad: Several hurt as loadshedding protest turns violent

Several people injured during a protest against loadshedding when police clashed with demonstrators.

 

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - People protesting against unscheduled and prolonged loadshedding in Muzaffarabad turned violent on Thursday.

 

A heavy police contingent arrived at the scene as the protesters tried to enter the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

 

The police resorted to aerial firing and baton charged the protesters to disperse them.

 

As many as 50 people, including the DSP of Muzaffarabad, sustained minor injuries when the protesters pelted stones at the police. They also set a police bus on fire.
