Police fail to present complete record of Bhutto reference case

The Punjab advocate general has been directed to present the record on Thursday.

An eleven-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of Bhutto reference case on Wednesday.Punjab Advocate General (AG) Khawaja Haris informed the court that the complete record of the case could not found. The CJP observed, “I am sure that the AG cannot produce even the original FIR of the case.”The court said that the case was not a trial or review petition, but it was a reference and the court was dealing it according to the constitution. The court told Babar Awan to contain his arguments within the realm of law and constitution. The court adjourned the hearing till Thursday and ordered the AG to present the complete record of the case.
