Sheikh Rashid seeks trains collision report within 24 hours

At least three people were killed and several others injured when two trains collided near Hyderabad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Federal Minister for Railways, has asked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Railways to complete investigation on the collision of Jinnah Express with a freight train near Hyderabad on Thursday evening within 24 hours.

Federal Minister for Railways also informed that the rail traffic for Up and Down trains that was suspended after the collision has been restored as the railway rescue teams has removed debris from the railway track.

At least three people were killed and several others injured when two trains collided near Hyderabad on Thursday.

A driver, assistant driver and a guard were killed when Jinnah Express passenger train travelling to Lahore from Karachi hit a goods train that had stopped at Makki Shah Crossing near Hyderabad Railway Station.

Train accidents are common in Pakistan, where railways have seen decades of decline due to corruption, mismanagement and lack of investment.
