Anti polio drive: KP govt asked to take action against conspirators

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – An investigation report submitted to KP government says locals including religious seminaries damaged national cause of eradicating polio from the country.
The report suggested an action against private schools owners, Nazims and religious scholars for their propaganda against anti polio drive.
The report said the vaccination given to children was safe and according to standards. Parents brought their children to hospitals due to fear and negative propaganda, it added.
The report said 40,000 children were brought to hospitals who had no problem. The protesters put basic health centre to fire after local government members incited them to do so, it said.
It added that people feared due to some negative reports by private school owners. The report asked government to take legal action against those involved in these crimes.
The report also said FIA should to take action against those involved in social media propaganda.
