Railway losses case: SC adjourns hearing till Dec 26

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday appeared before the Supreme Court, however, the court adjourned the hearing till December 26.

A three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) heard the case against the member of National Assembly (MNA) Saad Rafique. Saad Rafique appeared before the court with his Advocate Kamran Murtaza.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the Accountability Court had handed over Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 10-day physical remand.

On December 11, NAB had arrested Khawaja brothers in the Lahore s Paragon Housing Society.

It is pertinent here to mention that on April 7, 2018, the top judge had taken suo moto notice on Rs60 million loss in railway.

The court had sought a report on the losses incurred by Pakistan Railways. Later the report revealed that the losses of Pakistan Railways stand at Rs. 40 billion.
