Ministers, aides come to rescue as PM faces backlash on u-turn statement
Sindh governor says a man can never become great leader if he does not take u-turn.
(Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ministers and zealots have come to rescue of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan as opposition continues to take jibe at premier over his controversial ‘u-turn’ statement.
Responding to opposition’s criticism, the Sindh Governor Imran Ismail stated that a leader is supposed to take u-turns for making big decision. “A man can never become great leader if he does not take u-turns”, Sindh Governor was quoted as saying.
Another PTI’s lawmaker from Karachi Faisal Vawda claimed that talking u-turn tantamount to contemplating over the repercussions.
“U-turn is a process to ascertain the direction [of anything]. To ponder beforehand the consequences of any decision holds great importance”, claimed Vawda.
On the other hand, PM’s advisor on accountability Shehzad Akbar stated that Khan’s u-turn remarks were quoted out of the context.
Earlier, PM Imran said that the leader who cannot take apt U-turn is foolishest.
“Who does not take U-Turn according to situation is not a real politician. Only fools take rigid stance and stick on it. Every wise person review his decision. U-Turn is always taken for good purpose. Napoleon and Hitler did not succeed due to the reason that they did not take U-Turn. But U-Turn is not for telling a lie like Nawaz Sharif”, the PM added.
