The only message that seniors and subject specialists have for those who failed in this attempt and those planning to appear for the first time in the upcoming one is to try again being unswerving and meticulous.
According to FPSC, 24,010 candidates applied, those who appeared are 11,887, and only 569 could pass. Thus only 4.79% of the total number of aspirants appeared could get through in the written part of CSS 2018.
Most of the compulsory subjects remained in favour of the aspirants. English was taken serious this time; this is why aspirants seemed awestruck seeing marks of optional subjects like US History than Essay. This may be because serious aspirants were conscious of the importance of English. English Essay and Précis and Composition were annoying for semi-serious aspirants. And those who were not serious flunked badly. They also failed in Islamiyat, a compulsory subject which is usually taken light by terming its course content familiar.
